  1. Are you sure? This looks like a farm in Burlington, Wa. in Skagit County

  2. Have you seen pics of the flower farms in the Lompoc, CA area?

  3. Please don't show me these things when I've just shoveled the snow off the driveway for the third time in a week...

    1. Sorry about that. I'm a native of So Cal (where ice is something you put in a drink). After living in CT for more than 30 years, my wife and I moved to the southern tip of the Big Island of Hawai`i. It's been kind of chilly here recently and we had to put another blanket on the bed. (I think it got down to the low 60s last night.)

My sister lived in Lompoc and when we went for visits we drove through miles and miles of lovely flower farms, mostly grown for seeds.

    2. If it makes you feel any better, I copped these same views this morning flying to Amsterdam from London. It's all under 4 inches of fresh snow. Which in the city is now slush, and will stay that way for a week.

  5. Then they chop them all down and shred them for compost as they only want the bulbs.
